A Complete Education Our 6th to 12th grade program is a through academic program that uses supervised independent study and self-paced online coursework to complete all requirements. This program is ideal for families who want the homeschooling experience but need outside accountability or those who want a private school education, but live too far from viable options.
Requirements
Students may transfer in at any time and this program will be open to students in most states, not just California, and overseas. Students desiring to transfer in during the 11th or 12th grade year must have their file reviewed to ensure they can meet graduation requirements on time.
Students will be responsible for meeting deadlines and communicating with their supervising teacher. Organizational skills and work ethic will be essential to success.
Students must have computer, internet and email access.
Parents must take an active role in supporting the student and communicating with the school.
All curriculum materials will be provided electronically. (Note: some classes may require outside supplies: calculator, etc. These are not included.)
Monthly virtual meetings will be held with their supervising teacher. Parents of 6-8th grade students must attend these (after hours and weekend appointments will be available). Parents of 9-12th graders are encouraged to attend.
Daily progress will be tracked and this is how attendance is taken. School must be notified if students is ill or has technical problems that prevent signing on that day.
The daily schedule is flexible, meaning students may work on their own schedule. This makes it ideal for students with health issues, who have jobs or other life circumstances that make a regular school schedule difficult to work around.
Each class has work expectations and, particularly at the high school level, it is expected that students will spend 45 minutes to 1 hour per class per day. Since students have different ability levels and work speeds, this is a guideline, some students may be faster or slower.
Cost is per year and is $3000 per student. Sibling discounts are available.
Since we are a year round school, the school year runs August 1st till July 31st.
We highly recommend that parents help students to plan a daily and weekly routine or schedule to ensure that coursework is turned in on time and students do not fall behind.
NOTE: the difference between this program and our Private Satellite Program is that our teachers do all the grading and tracking. The PSP program does not provide full online instruction.
