Our Satellite Program

This program is designed for those families in California and possibly other states (please inquire if your state is available) who wish to instruct their children at home. Students need only be residents of California, making this ideal for families who travel extensively for sports, parental work or the like.  For options for non-residents of California, please contact admissions.

Option One

In this option, parents select and obtain their own curriculum and instruct their student totally on their own schedule. A plan of study must be submitted to ensure that grade level requirements are met.  Mount Carmel maintains the student's cumulative file and attendance records per the state's requirements and parents can focus on educating their child, rather than being concerned with the administrative side. Minimal record keeping is required to be submitted to Mount Carmel (attendance, plan of study, progress report). Since we are a private school, students are not required to participate in government standardized testing. We do utilize assessments at the time of enrollment and again at the end of the year to ensure that progress was made. The reports will be reviewed with parents and many parents find the information from these reports helpful in planning their year.


One time application fee: $150 per student
Annual tuition: $1575 per student

Option Two

Option two is ideal for new homeschooling parents or parents who are looking for a bit more outside accountability for their student. After completing a survey and talking with a supervising teacher as well as possible diagnostic testing, a plan of study will be recommended for your student. Parents will still be responsible for instructing, grading and record keeping. Monthly meetings with a supervising teacher are required. Some recommendations may include online self-paced math classes for the student whose parents  do not have strong math backgrounds, a kit for the parent to teach reading at home, or online literature classes for the student whose parents may be ESL learners themselves. Our goal is to provide the best education for the student and family by meeting them where they are.

Annual enrollment fee: $250 per student (must be paid before consultation and diagnostic testing, if needed)
Annual tuition: Begins at $2800 per student per year, final cost will vary depending on curriculum plan put in place
